Trilucent breast implants
Women who are worried about having to have their Trilucent soya breast implants removed should not be worried about facing a legal battle after the operation, said the solicitor co-ordinating the compensation claims today.Paul Balen solicitor at Freethcartwright explained that the Trilucent suppliers, AEI Inc, had agreed not to dispute liability. This means, he said, that women will receive compensation for having to have the Trilucent implants explanted. Other side effects claimed by the women will be considered in individual cases through a claims protocol which should avoid the need for court proceedings.
The company have agreed to be responsible for the womens' legal and medical costs.
Claims for compensation will be based on the pain and suffering experienced by the women; the necessity to go through an additional medical operation and for any medical problems associated with the failure of the implants. Expenses, including the cost of the original operation, should be reimbursed.
